Last Friday the Diocese of Tulsa & Eastern Oklahoma released the new priest assignments. I have been assigned as the full-time chaplain at Bishop Kelley High School. This will take effect July 1, so I still have the remainder of the semester here at Holy Family Classical School. My last weekend at Holy Family will be June 27-28. I have been at Holy Family now for five years, and all I have known in my priestly ministry is Holy Family Cathedral and Classical School. I have come to love this place. I remember starting here twiddling my thumbs not knowing what to do, to being asked to teach Theology of the Body, to now pursuing a masters degree in school leadership. It has been through my time here, the beautiful influence of our many kids and families, and my experience teaching in the classroom, that I have felt God calling me to dedicate a lot of my priestly ministry to education. This will be a tough move for me since Holy Family Cathedral has been the foundation to my priesthood. However, I am excited for the opportunity that lays ahead of me. Thank you to all of you for being a part of that foundation! Fr. Jon Fincher, currently assigned as the chaplain of Bishop Kelley, is being assigned as the Associate Pastor at Holy Family Cathedral and will be the new chaplain for Holy Family Classical School. I am excited for what he brings. He likewise has a love for Catholic education. He was ordained six years ago. His first assignment was Christ the King for two years where he also was involved in Marquette. Then, he was assigned to Bishop Kelley High School where he has been for the past three years. Again, this is not a goodbye right now. I am still around the rest of the school year. Let us enjoy the rest of the time we have together this school year! Let us keep forming ourselves to Christ, who is the source of all Truth, Goodness, Beauty, and Unity! Fr. Joshua Votruba
